Antonio De Iesu è il nuovo commissario prefettizio del Comune di Eboli. La nomina è arrivata dal prefetto di Salerno Francesco Russo. Il 65enne, nato a Napoli, già questore del capoluogo partenopeo, ma anche di Milano, Salerno e Bari, e vicecapo della Polizia, traghetterà in questi mesi l’Ente della città della Piana del Sele verso il previsto ritorno alle urne nella primavera del 2021 per l’elezione del nuovo sindaco e del Consiglio comunale. Ad Eboli, la fase di commissariamento si è resa necessaria a seguito delle dimissioni presentate il 9 novembre scorso dall’ex sindaco Massimo Cariello, coinvolto in un’inchiesta giudiziaria che lo ha condotto agli arresti domiciliari dal 9 ottobre 2020.

Bisogna ricostruire la fiducia che Eboli merita e da me auspicata affinché le vicende giudiziarie, che sono riconducibili ad alcuni, non pesino su una Città storicamente sana e operosa”.
