PILLOLE DI PRIMO SOCCORSO/12 – ICE (In Case of Emergency).
Ormai tutti abbiamo un cellulare. È utile, strumento valido se usato col cervello. Nel cellulare ormai abbiamo la nostra vita: numeri, password, note personali, foto e addirittura possiamo accedere al nostro conto corrente. Ma, nel nostro cellulare, abbiano inserito nella Chiamata d’Emergenza i nomi che vorremmo venissero chiamati se impossibilitati noi ad usare il telefono? La sigla ICE è l’acronimo delle parole inglesi “In Case of Emergency” che, tradotto, significa “In caso di emergenza” ed è stato coniato nel 2005 da Bob Brotchie, un paramedico dell’East Anglian Ambulance Service del Regno Unito, subito dopo i tragici attentati terroristici di Londra. L’idea, nella sua semplicità, nasce da una buona intuizione e, probabilmente, anche da una forte esperienza professionale maturata sulla strada. Chi, come le Forze dell’Ordine e il Personale Medico, interviene nei casi di incidenti stradali, conosce bene, difatti, quali e quante siano le difficoltà oggettive e logistiche dell’operare in maniera efficace e veloce, soprattutto in presenza di feriti privi di conoscenza. Identificare subito una persona, riuscendo ad assumere quante più informazioni utili da chi la conosce bene, può a volte fare la differenza fra la vita e la morte. Si pensi soltanto all’esigenza di sapere il gruppo sanguigno, le eventuali malattie o allergie di una persona da soccorrere o all’importanza che assume il fatto, per chiunque, di avere vicino una persona cara in un momento di bisogno. Ognuno di noi dovrebbe aggiungere sulla rubrica telefonica del proprio cellulare almeno un numero da contattare nei casi di necessità e che abbia, per motivi di privacy, oltre che per facilitare l’intervento dei soccorritori, la sigla internazionale predefinita “ICE”. Certo, a telefono bloccato questa accortezza non serve a nulla. E qualcuno ha anche avanzato un problema di privacy. Ma c’è da dire che oggi i nuovi cellulari hanno una funzione dedicata che è attiva anche a telefono bloccato. All’accensione del cellulare, quando si illumina la schermata dove inserire il codice per sbloccare il telefono, compare il tasto “Chiamata di Emergenza”. Cliccando si possono chiamare i numeri di emergenza istituzionali (112, 113, 118, 115); si possono inserire i numeri ICE e le nostre notizie mediche; e, se registrati, chiamare i numeri ICE. Il tutto senza problemi di privacy o di telefono bloccato. Quindi, smanettate bene e smanettate utile. Potrebbe, se non salvarvi la vita, almeno avere vicino un vostro caro in caso di emergenza.
