Incidenti e feriti in orari diurni e notturni e su strade principali, scontri continui tra vetture dovuti alla velocità e alla mancata prudenza di chi si mette al volante, a volte in condizioni non idonee alla guida. Nel vuoto sembra essere caduto anche l’invito/sollecito rivolto qualche mese fa, in forma ufficiale, dal Prefetto di Salerno, Francesco Russo, il quale ha chiesto al Comune di adoperarsi per adottare le misure necessarie. Ci sono casi limite che, a rigore di logica, dovrebbero essere monitorati con posti di blocco, a tutela della sicurezza di tutti. Via Magna Graecia è da tempo strada chiave da e verso la movida. Molti giovani e giovanissimi si mettono alla guida dopo essere usciti a tarda notte dai locali di Paestum. Sarebbe opportuno lungo tale strada posizionare pattuglie della Polizia Municipale al fine di prevenire possibili incidenti. Sono mesi che si richiedono, inoltre, controlli in tutte le altre contrade.

Il corpo di Polizia Municipale di Capaccio Paestum è nutritissimo in numero, quasi come quello di una città capoluogo di provincia. Ma dove sono? Come vengono impiegati? Alcuni vengono prestati ad altri Comuni, quelli che restano sono inutilmente piazzati di giorno a ciclo continuo sulla SS18, con rilevatori meccanici a fare multe a tagliola a chi supera il limite di velocità di qualche chilometro orario. Allorquando, invece, su tutto il territorio comunale, via Magna Graecia, via Molino di Mare, Santa Venere, Linora, Licinella, Laura, le auto sfrecciano a forte velocità causando incidenti con morti e feriti.
Alfieri e la sua Giunta credono di poter salvare il Comune di Capaccio Paestum, dall’esposizione debitoria in cui lo hanno portato, con multe a raffica. Ammontano infatti a ben 2.700.000,00 euro annui gli appostamenti previsionali in entrata per multe da Codice della Strada in Bilancio. Sommati per le tre annualità, siamo a oltre 8 milioni di euro totali, dai quali ovviamente va detratto quanto non sarà fisiologicamente riscosso.
