Se le cariche politiche fossero medaglie o nastrini militari, Franco Alfieri a quest’ora camminerebbe pendendo di lato, magari a sinistra, e la cosa andrebbe anche bene, tranne, ovviamente, a Giovanni Licinio e alla sparuta o corposa “compagnia” di destra presente nel nostro territorio. Alfieri, infatti, è da poco diventato uno e trino, perché, dopo essere diventato Sindaco e presidente dell’Unione dei Comuni dell’Alto Cilento, ha da poco ottenuto anche un’altra presidenza, quella della Provincia di Salerno e, di questo passo, tra un po’ di tempo lo vedremo sfoggiare persino più titoli della Contessa Serbelloni Mazzanti Vien dal Mare, con buona pace dei suoi oppositori, ridotti anche loro, ormai, a personaggi di fantozziana memoria. C’è da dire, però, che tra le cariche e i ruoli c’è un abisso fatto di rispetto, senso delle istituzioni e, perché no, anche di retorica, altrimenti si finisce per ritornare alla dicotomia aristocrazia-popolo, dove la nobiltà fa quello che gli pare senza troppe spiegazioni e gli altri hanno paura di porre domande e sollevare questioni, accontentandosi di chinare il capo e dire “sì, sua eccellenza”. Ecco perché non mi vanno proprio a genio i toni del Consiglio Comunale di novembre, quando il Sindaco Alfieri ha sbraitato dando dell’ignorante al povero dottore Longo, colpevole di avere fatto semplicemente il ruolo che spetta a ogni consigliere di opposizione: pretendere risposte e vigilare l’operato di chi amministra, nient’altro. E in un’amministrazione dove i consiglieri di minoranza si contano sulle dita, non di una mano, ma di mezza, rispettarne quantomeno la parola è sinonimo di garbo, prima che di civiltà politica. Anche perché, ed è bene ricordarlo, un governo senza opposizione ha un solo nome, dittatura. Per questo motivo non mi stanno bene le offese né tantomeno la spiegazione semantica del termine “ignorante” elargita a mo’ di giustifica, come se tutti, appunto, fossimo ignoranti, e lo siamo, per carità, ma non penso a tal punto da non comprendere la distinzione tra un’offesa e una precisazione. Ed è comprensibile, ci sta, perdere le staffe quando a volte sembriamo davvero essere degli incompresi e le domande altrui ci appaiono inutili e prive di senso, spesso addirittura provocatorie. Però è questa, a mio avviso, la differenza sostanziale tra chi è abituato a collezionare cariche e chi è interessato a svolgere nel migliore dei modi il proprio ruolo: i primi gonfiano il petto, i secondi si pizzicano la pancia.
